Pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli protesters gather outside Obama speech at Glasgow's Hydro
Rival demonstrations formed outside the Hydro in Glasgow on 14 October 2026, at an event the contributor says was a speech by Barack Obama. Palestinian flags and a Saltire fly above a long black banner strung along the barrier line, where a man in a keffiyeh leads chants through a megaphone. A second man wraps himself in an Israeli flag and holds it open in front of the same banner, face to face with a woman holding a microphone, and later raises the flag between himself and the crowd. Another frame shows a man shouting into a microphone with fists and phones raised behind him. A Police Scotland officer is pictured speaking to a man at the edge of the crowd as a phone is held up between them, with the lit BBC Scotland building across the water behind the protest.
Fire crews use aerial platform to reach loose pigeon netting on Eastgate Street in Gloucester
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service crews worked from an aerial platform on Eastgate Street in Gloucester on the evening of Wednesday 14 October 2026 to reach a length of pigeon netting hanging loose from a concrete building above the pavement. Pictures taken between 5.17pm and 5.28pm show two firefighters in the cage of a Bronto Skylift F32 RL working at first-floor level alongside the building's window line, with a separate frame showing the netting hanging free from the underside of the concrete overhang. A second appliance stands in the pedestrianised street behind barrier tape, with an incident commander watching the lift from the ground. The contributor says the loose strip had raised concerns for the safety of people passing below, that it was removed by crews, and that passers-by stopped to watch the response.
Villagers rally with Battle for Britain placards at Leverington asylum protest
Crowds gathered in the village of Leverington on 11 October 2026 for a protest against plans the contributor says would house asylum seekers there. Demonstrators filled the grass and roadway outside a brick building on the edge of the village, carrying Union flags and placards reading "Leverington: Battle for Britain 2026" and "Leverington: Don't destroy our village". A Welsh dragon flag and a flag bearing a lion were flown above the crowd, and a television camera on a tripod was set up among those gathered. A tractor joined the protest along the main road, a placard fixed to its rear window, while a van parked nearby carried a Union flag draped across its back doors. Further frames show the village street itself, with demonstrators walking between parked cars past houses and a 30mph sign.
Land Rover Discovery lands on its roof in residential Dogsthorpe street
A white Land Rover Discovery came to rest upside down in a residential road in Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, on the night of Sunday 4 October 2026, pictured at 9:57pm. The frames show the vehicle on its roof across the carriageway outside a row of semi-detached houses, wheels in the air, tail lights still lit and broken glass spread over the tarmac, with a door torn back and the interior exposed. Police in high-visibility jackets stand at the kerb and residents watch from the pavement a few feet away as blue lights wash across the fronts of the homes. A wider view down the road shows the street closed behind the wreck, a fire appliance and emergency vehicles drawn up and traffic stopped. The contributor says the Discovery had collided with a blue Audi TT, that the woman driving was alone in the car, and that nobody was severely injured.
Riot police deploy as student protest fills La Rochelle streets
Riot police were deployed in La Rochelle on the morning of 1 October 2026 as a student protest moved through the city centre. One frame shows a column of mostly young marchers packed across the width of a street beside the Rue Rambaud nameplate, held at a no-entry sign with a high-vis steward at the front. Another shows a single officer in a blue-banded helmet and body armour watching that crowd from behind a riot shield at the corner, with debris scattered on the road between the two. A further frame, taken at 11.06am, shows a squad of helmeted officers regrouping on a chequerboard-paved square away from the march, pale residue marking the slabs around them. The contributor, who says they were on holiday in the city, describes encountering violent rioters as students protested about their educational experiences.
Peaky Blinders and Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton on the treadmill at a north London gym
Charlie Heaton worked out at a gym in north London, on the evening of Wednesday 23 September 2026. The Stranger Things actor, who plays Tommy Shelby's son Charles in the new series of Peaky Blinders, ran in a red baseball cap and white over-ear headphones, in a plain grey T-shirt and dark bottoms, with a water bottle propped on the machine console in front of him. The pictures were taken from the street through the gym's front glass, which the contributor says faces the main road, and catch him mid-stride, head back, and glancing up from the treadmill screen. The contributor says he was later seen heading off along the pavement with his phone in his hand, in a navy, red and yellow colour-block jacket and pale trainers.

The King stops to speak with a white-haired man in a navy suit, then turns to smile, wave and point towards the people filming. The contributor says the building is Great British Energy's.
Police close both carriageways of the A127 at Eastwood, Essex, after an accident
Police closed both sides of the A127 dual carriageway at Eastwood, Essex, after an accident on 16 September 2026. Pictures taken between 12:40pm and 1:10pm show the carriageway empty of traffic, with a marked police car, its blue lights on, stopped across a junction beside a line of traffic cones. Police tape is strung between bollards and railings along the pavement, with an officer in a high-visibility jacket standing at the cordon and a group of officers gathered by police vehicles further along the road. The contributor says police and paramedics shut the road and used the tape to stop people walking past. The contributor also describes what is assumed to be a body lying under a white sheet.
Futuristic armoured vehicles and figures in tactical gear line Canary Wharf street for film shoot
Futuristic armoured vehicles and figures in black tactical uniforms filled a street in Canary Wharf, London, for a film shoot on 13 September 2026. Pictures taken shortly after 9am show angular grey armoured vehicles parked across the wet road, with lines of figures in helmets and body armour, some holding prop weapons, standing along the kerb beside them. Crew, including a member of staff in hi-vis, gather in the road around a third vehicle further up the street, and a street-level frame shows one of the vehicles against the office blocks of Canary Wharf with the State Street building behind. By midday the vehicles were parked behind traffic cones outside a glass office building, among them a six-wheeled grey camouflage transporter numbered 05 and a large-wheeled armoured car carrying a winged W-Y logo. The contributor says the logo resembles the Weyland-Yutani emblem from the Alien franchise and suggests the Alien: Earth series, and that the vehicles and costumes also resemble reports of The Batman Part II filming in London, but cannot confirm which production it is.
Major crash in Gloucestershire
At around midnight 12/09/26 I witnessed a major car crash at a double roundabout junction by Crickley Hill and the A417. A group of teenagers was speeding in an Audi and hit the side of an SUV who was going around the roundabout at the time behind me, flipping him over and trapping the driver. I was first to help make sure everyone was okay. The crash happened in an area that was undergoing roadworks, I got photos of the overturned car and footage of the Audi after the crash. I think Gloucestershire news outlets may be interested.
Police divers search Ramsgate harbour for weapon used in fatal taxi driver attack
Police divers and a search and rescue team combed Ramsgate Royal Harbour on Monday 24 August 2026, hunting for the weapon used in an attack that killed one man and left another taxi driver seriously injured. Pictures show a dive tent pitched on a pontoon beside a moored yacht, a diver in the water alongside inflatable lift bags, and officers working the harbour wall behind blue and white cordon tape strung along the railings. A search and rescue support van is parked on the quay beside the fish stall, with police standing in a group at the tape line and a small crowd watching from the pavement. One frame catches a man in dark uniform raising his arm over the water towards the dive team. The contributor says the killing happened in the early hours of Sunday morning, that officers were seen making throwing gestures at the water and dropping markers, and that a robotic instrument was later used to search beneath the surface. The first frame in the set was taken on the evening of Sunday 23 August, with the search sequence running from 10.21am to 1.38pm the following day.
Fire tears through New Malden house as embers rain over neighbouring rooftops
Fire tore through a house on Mount Pleasant Road in New Malden on the evening of Saturday 22 August 2026, throwing showers of embers high above the surrounding rooftops. Pictures taken at 9.46pm show flames breaking through the roofline of the property while three onlookers stand in the road watching, and a fire engine on scene with its blue lights running and a hose run out across the carriageway. The contributor says neighbours and children were evacuated from their homes as firefighters tackled the blaze. They say the property is known locally for the quantity of items kept in its front garden and out onto the road and pavement, including old engines, car batteries left charging, live wires and unidentified car fluids, and that the fire brigade has been called to the same address for a major fire before. One resident watching in the street said: "It's not him again is it".
Van engulfed in flames at the side of the M1
A van burns out at the side of the M1, filmed at night from a passing car. The white panel van is stopped hard against the nearside barrier with its cab and front end fully alight, flames climbing well above roof height and lighting the trees on the embankment. It sits alongside a blue SOS sign marking an emergency area 300 yards ahead. No fire crews or police are on scene in either clip, and other traffic is still moving past. The contributor filmed it while driving past. He says it was a big fire and that he does not know what caused it. Two clips, 14 seconds and 3 seconds, filed to PressApp at 00.54 BST on Sunday 23 August 2026. The contributor has not given an exact time of filming or a junction number.

Partial solar eclipse over Hampstead Heath, north London, Wednesday 12 August 2026
The partially eclipsed sun over north London on the evening of Wednesday 12 August 2026, photographed from Hampstead Heath. Seven frames were shot on a Sony ILCE-7RM4 with a 70-200mm lens at its 200mm end, between 6.01pm and 7.18pm BST. The sequence opens on the full, uneclipsed disc at 6.01pm, then follows the moon biting into the right-hand edge of the sun, the disc thinning to a broad crescent and then to a narrow arc by 7.03pm. In the last two frames, at 7.12pm and 7.18pm, the crescent has turned over and is thickening again as the moon moves clear. The disc holds a deep orange against a black sky throughout, exposed at f/22 at 1/1000 for the first five frames and 1/400 for the final two, at ISO 50 on the opening frame and ISO 100 thereafter.
