From phone to payday in 5 simple steps
PressApp is built to be ridiculously simple. No portfolio reviews, no bidding wars, no agents. Just your phone, your shot and a fair share of the sale.
1 · See it. Capture it.
See a celebrity, breaking news event, crime in progress, dramatic weather or anything newsworthy? Get it on camera safely.
2 · Send it through PressApp
Open the app, tap upload, add a one-line description, location and category. The whole thing takes about a minute.
3 · Our editors review it
A real human editor checks every submission, and most clear review in about 9 minutes during the day.
4 · We sell it for you
We pitch your shot to verified newsrooms, magazines and websites. Exclusives go to one buyer for the highest price.
5 · You get paid
Up to 70% of every sale lands in your PressApp wallet. Payouts go straight to your saved UK bank account.
Ready to send your first shot?
It takes about a minute to upload. Your first shot could be the one an editor has been waiting for.
Frequently asked
How much can I earn?expand_more
It depends on the shot. As a guide, a typical accepted submission can fetch anywhere from £40 to £900. Genuine exclusives, like celebrity scoops and breaking-news firsts, can be worth thousands.
Do I need to be a journalist?expand_more
No. Anyone 16 or over with a phone can submit (under-18s get paid out via the bank account of a parent or guardian). The best reporters are usually just regular people who happen to be in the right place at the right time.
Do I keep the rights to my photos?expand_more
You retain copyright. A standard licence is non-exclusive, so the same shot can sell again and again. A buyer can instead take a paid exclusive with an embargo they choose (up to 48 hours). After it ends the shot reopens for second rights.
When do I get paid?expand_more
When a buyer licenses your shot, your share lands in your PressApp wallet. Approved balances are paid out to the bank details you save in your account.
What if my shot is not accepted?expand_more
It happens. We'll let you know why so you can do better next time. There's no penalty for rejected uploads.
