How it works

From phone to payday in 5 simple steps

PressApp is built to be ridiculously simple. No portfolio reviews, no bidding wars, no agents. Just your phone, your shot and a fair share of the sale.

photo_camera

1 · See it. Capture it.

See a celebrity, breaking news event, crime in progress, dramatic weather or anything newsworthy? Get it on camera safely.

cloud_upload

2 · Send it through PressApp

Open the app, tap upload, add a one-line description, location and category. The whole thing takes about a minute.

reviews

3 · Our editors review it

A real human editor checks every submission, and most clear review in about 15 minutes during the day.

storefront

4 · We sell it for you

Most shots sell All Round: we price them to clear and any desk they suit can license them, again and again. A genuine exclusive sells once, to one desk, at a visible price.

payments

5 · You get paid

70% of every sale lands in your PressApp wallet. Once your ID check is approved, payouts go straight to your saved UK bank account.

Ready to send your first shot?

It takes about a minute to upload. Your first shot could be the one an editor has been waiting for.

Frequently asked

How much can I earn?expand_more

It depends on the shot. As a guide, everyday pictures often sell for £20 to £120, strong news and celebrity shots for £120 to £300, and a genuine exclusive sells in its own band, typically £150 to £1,000, with the biggest agreed desk by desk. Nothing sells every time, and we will always tell you straight.

Do I need to be a journalist?expand_more

No. Anyone 16 or over with a phone can submit (under-18s get paid out via the bank account of a parent or guardian). The best reporters are usually just regular people who happen to be in the right place at the right time.

Do I keep the rights to my photos?expand_more

You retain copyright. An All Round licence is non-exclusive, so the same shot can sell again and again. A buyer can instead take a paid exclusive with an embargo they choose (up to 48 hours). After it ends we re-release the shot All Round at a fresh price, and it can keep earning.

When do I get paid?expand_more

When a buyer licenses your shot, your share lands in your PressApp wallet. Approved balances are paid out to the bank details you save in your account.

What if my shot is not accepted?expand_more

It happens. We'll let you know why so you can do better next time. There's no penalty for rejected uploads.
