North Wales Fire and Rescue crews tackle wildfires on the Rhinogydd mountains
North Wales Fire and Rescue crews tackle wildfires burning across the Rhinogydd mountains in Wales. A fire engine, cars and firefighters stand on open grassland at the foot of the range, dwarfed by a mountainside pouring smoke the length of the ridge. The set runs to 15 stills, mixing ground-level views from the moorland below with aerial frames taken above the burning slopes. The aerial pictures show flame lines running through heather and across bare rock outcrops, blackened ground behind the fire front, and thick smoke pushing over a conifer plantation still green in the foreground. One frame picks out a single firefighter in helmet and hi-vis working alone at the fire edge in heavy smoke, with flames still burning in the grass beside them. Another has the fire engine parked in the foreground under clear blue sky as smoke rises off the ridge behind.
